Car-riders

Morning car-rider drop off is from 7:45 to 8:10 in the car-rider lane. Please arrive between 7:40 and 8:05 to ensure that your child arrives in homeroom before morning announcements begin.

Parents may not drop off students at the front entrance. After 8:10, students must be checked in by a parent/guardian.

Afternoon car-rider pick-up begins at 2:45. Please arrive for pick-up before 3:05.

Walkers

Parents may walk students to school from their home. Parents may not park at the school for the purpose of their child being a walker. Parents must pick their child up from the vestibule by presenting their walker number as early as 2:40 PM and no later than 2:50 PM.

During the School Day

Late Check-in

Students who arrive after 8:10 must be checked in by their parent or guardian at the front office.

Early Checkout

If you need to checkout your child early, please do so by 2:00.

Technology & Personal Devices

Prescheduled parent volunteers are permitted in the school.

Parent Visitors

All visitors must sign-in at the front desk. Parents are not permitted to walk their child to the classroom without a scheduled appointment.  Kindergarten students may be escorted to class on the first day of school only.

Joining your child for lunch
Parents may have lunch with their child beginning on Monday,  Aug. 24.  Please do not bring fast food.  For the safety of our students, parents/visitors who have lunch with a child must be listed in Synergy as an approved contact. Visitors must sit at the designated visitor table with their student. Students are not permitted to bring friends to the parent/visitor table.

Ice Cream

Students may purchase individual ice cream items for $1.00 on Fridays. Ice cream sales will begin on Friday, Aug. 14.

Parties

Rock Springs students will have two classroom parties per year. One will be a winter party and the other will be an end-of-year party.

Birthdays

Parents may purchase ice cream from school for the entire class at the cost of $1 per student. Please communicate with your child’s teacher in advance if you intend to purchase ice cream for a birthday. Students will receive their ice cream treat during lunchtime in the cafeteria.

Other options include purchasing a Birthday Book Celebration, purchasing a Birthday Message displayed on the digital sign, and/or sending in a class set of cupcakes for lunch monitors to distribute.

Parties, goody bags, and/or other birthday snacks/drinks are not permitted.

Balloons

Helium balloons are not allowed inside of Rock Springs ES or Collins Hill HS.

Invitations

Birthday party invitations may be distributed in school if the parent provides an invitation for each child in the class or all the boys/all the girls in the class.
